This week, ICON has released one of the most fundamentally important news surrounding BTP in its history. This news is that ICON will directly connect to four specific parachains that are linked directly to Polkadot, one of the most well known and expansive ecosystems in all of blockchain. Acala, Moonbeam, Edgeware, and Plasm, four parachain candidates in the Polkadot ecosystem, will be integrated into ICON’s BTP interoperability solution, enabling developers to build complex applications tapping into different blockchain infrastructures. Maximalism is an overrated virtue, dignified by the tribalistic to justify their tribalism. ICON sees through this notion and has always understood the value of transparency and interconnectivity. With NFT's, D'apps, digital transactions etc. these fintech entities are still missing one key component, interoperability. The last components that are needed for blockchain to be truly mass adopted are interoperability, scalability and interconnectivity, without these principles, kiss mainstream adoption goodbye. At the same time, it is also important to realize that South Korea is taking notice to the ICON cryptocurrency, and this is seen through the recent Coinone listing of ICX. As of this month, BalancedDAO, a DeFI platform on the ICON Ecosystem is set to launch in the coming weeks. For all of you procrastinators, ICON has always announced that ICONFI will support the ERC-20 to mainnet ICX token swap. Equality Exchange, an exchange that emphasizes the trading of stable coins on ICON, was also announced roughly three weeks ago.
