Here's a little about me:
CAREER GOALS
The cryptocurrency market and end-user industry is currently the most rapidly advancing
industries; it fascinates me to see how the different digital currencies are being built and
developed to achieve their application goals. I have a basic understanding of how this is
achieved through documentaries and research, however I endeavor to know more about this
industry and broaden my understanding – the more I know, the more I can contribute, and the
more content I will become.
I studied Actuarial Science in the University, which comes with a great deal of math, statistics,
probabilities, and economics. Even though I am passionate about Actuarial Science, I was
uncertain about how to go about turning it into a lifelong career until recently. At the time of my
graduation, I found myself doing nothing except asking again and again how I could be more
involved in something that could make a huge difference around me. I felt like I was missing
something. As a result, I went to the complete opposite end of the spectrum and opted to work
in the non-profit world.
In my experience in the non-profit world, I found a gap. My position as a Program Manager
overseeing the rescue, rehabilitation, and education of young Maasai girls fleeing Female
Genital Mutilation (FGM), though fulfilling, felt constrained. A lot of the rehabilitation projects
were based on previous methods believed to be successful, and gave very little thought to new
opportunities in the ever-changing digital world; the world around us was changing, but the
methods that we used were not. As a result, our efforts to create a more economically
empowered community often failed. Eventually, I started to think about how I could add more
value to the situation. That is how I ended up in research and statistical analysis. I have since
used my background in statistical analysis to delve into looking for ways to help others better
understand the digital world. With a lot of trial and error, I learned how to properly test
hypotheses, and automate strategies. I have learned to code from watching videos and reading
books, and now feel knowledgeable enough to analyze data and see what could actually work.
My findings have since been implemented to the benefit of the Maasai community.
Shortly after I became a freelance research assistant, I found the world of cryptocurrency. It
basically laid out how the next generation would need a “thought revolution” when it comes to
the digital world, finances, and the creation of decentralized systems. It taught me to view
companies and corporations like ecosystems where if we all learn how best to participate, we
can create something that will last. Upon considerable reflection, the thought of being able to
help others learn about and benefit from such ecosystems provides me with tremendous
internal gratification and offers me the feeling that my life’s efforts have been focused in a
positive direction.
Yet again, I want to help bridge the gap in the adoption of decentralized systems. If you look at
the global distribution of hotspots supporting the Helium Network, the whole of Africa, for
instance, is lagging behind in their adoption and application of actual use-cases; I would like to
help propel adoption and spread knowledge on possible directions as much as I can. However,
since the concept of creating a sustainable decentralized ecosystem is still largely
undocumented, I am opting for the more hands-on route: learning as I go, and getting as much
on-field exposure as I can.
I am a quick study, and can learn on the job. I’m also very flexible and have a wide array of
useful skills. Working and contributing to the growing cryptocurrency space is the culmination of a
lifelong career goal; and I am prepared to dedicate myself, as I have in the past, to achieving
this goal.
My perfect job title is not fixed. I wouldn't mind any entry-level positions either, and I can work remotely. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated 🙂
