What you’ll do
In this role, you will lead Point72’s crypto technology buildout. This role will require a deep understanding of blockchain technology, crypto exchanges, and the various potential strategies that exist in the digital asset space. The scope of the role will extend to the entire digital assets ecosystem which may include crypto currencies, DeFi, and NFTs. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent synthesis and communication abilities, an analytical mindset, robust problem-solving skills, a high degree of motivation, and should thrive in a fluid fast-paced environment.
Specifically, the role will:
Collaborate with groups across our Firm to create an integrated roadmap to build a best-in-class crypto platform across front, middle, and back office
Lead the technology design, architecture, and development of the Point72 crypto ecosystem from front to back-office processes
Follow emerging crypto trends, providers, and regulatory developments
Analyze user feedback and drive continuous product improvement
Partner with the Cryptocurrency COO, Compliance, portfolio managers, and Operations and Technology teams to formulate solutions to the complex challenges of a rapidly growing marketplace
Maintain a tight pulse on the technical innovation in the crypto market, staying in-the-know with regard to changing trends around innovative protocol design, consensus mechanisms, scalability initiatives, network launches, upgrades, regulation, and more
Become the internal subject matter expert on technology crypto ecosystems, training and educating others within the organization, including senior leadership, trading technology teams, and back office groups
What’s required
10+ years of experience developing technical platforms in financial services
Previous experience developing trading platforms
Direct professional or personal experience in digital assets and related topics such as cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and blockchain technology
Several years of direct experience working in the digital assets space, ideally with a crypto-native firm, consulting organization, asset manager, or bank
A passion for the digital assets ecosystem and the opportunities for the new technologies, change, and innovation, it provides
Familiarity with the digital asset ecosystem, including index and data providers, exchanges, custodians, miners, new outlets, and beyond
Strong communication skills, with previous experience presenting updates and information to senior decision makers
Desire to work in a startup type environment, where you will engage in big-picture strategic thinking for the new initiatives as well as bringing a ‘roll up your sleeves’ attitude
