How to improve your score on PREPrs

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to those that want to improve their rank on the PREPrs scoring system. We provide ICONists and P-Reps open and free to use tools to improve their scores. Please reference each category depending on your needs.

This repository is meant to be kept clean and concise. To make this process effortless and as frictionless as possible, we’ll keep things as bullet points, with clear answers on how to improve your score. As an analogy, think about climbing a mountain. The higher you go, the more beautiful the view from atop the mountain. We pave the way for learning at a meta level, and provide frictionless ways to expand on it.

If your score is an “S'' for any of the following categories, you more than likely do not need to reference these documents. Regardless of the former, it may serve as a great resource for either you or your team.

*If you are a P-Rep and have recently updated information about your organization, let us know by going to the P-Rep Wiki, and adding a comment to your Wiki page. Updating your Wiki page with a comment allows us to update rankings! - This is especially helpful as many systems do not have API's that we can auto-pull in data! Thanks for helping us keep your wiki updated and fresh!

**Pro-tip! - If you are a P-Rep, and there are ANY parts of your profile that are "N/A", GO do it! 🙂

SOCIALS

The socials category is based on your activity on social media. These include but are not limited to:

Daily posts on Twitter, TikTok, Telegram, etc.
The amount of Youtube videos you have.
Your influence such as subscriber base and followers.
Community engagement.

To improve your score in these areas, consistency is key, no matter the circumstances. Here are some tips that will ultimately impact your score in a positive way:

Make a goal to post daily to Twitter, TikTok, & Telegram, or other socials.
Create content in forms of media (video, podcasts) on a consistent basis.
Engage with your followers & subscribers. Every engagement counts!
Provide incentives for your followers. Make them feel welcome in our community.
Be professional and concise on what your team is able to provide our community.
Find as many social outlets as possible. Even if not widely used, you’ll create a meta network in which you’re able to capitalize on.

SOCIALS TOOLS & RESOURCES

Here are some well renowned tools to analyze any data on your social channels, create content for your community, as well as communicate to your audience. You are able to see in real time the direct efforts that you put in, and how to plan accordingly.

TEAM

The team category is based on your team’s size, longevity, and experience within the ICON ecosystem. These include but are not limited to:

The size of your team.
How long you’ve been a part of the network.
Your team’s openness. Are you anonymous or transparent?

To improve your score in these areas, you must actively build out your team with a common plan. Here are some tips that will ultimately impact your score in a positive way:

Form a team of builders, and innovative minds that wish to do great.
Create goals on how to contribute in a consistent manner.
Actively grow your team, and become a long term entity of the ICON ecosystem. This will ultimately improve your score.

TEAM TOOLS & TOOLS RESOURCES

Here are some well renowned tools to help manage your team and its communication. You’ll be able to clearly define the type of team you wish to have, as well as any common goals available to you.

FINANCE

The socials category is based on how your team manages its finances. These include but are not limited to:

The amount of money that flows out of your node.
How much funding your team has received.
Are you buying votes? While controversial, it’s generally looked down upon.

To improve your score in these areas, you must assess how you spend, and present a reasonable amount of humility. Here are some tips that will ultimately impact your score in a positive way:

Your funds should ultimately be spent on growing your team.
If you’re funding size is grandiose, you are expected to spend responsibly.
While spending is a utility of ICX, intentionally “dumping” on the network will negatively impact your score.

FINANCE & TOOLS RESOURCES

Here are some well renowned tools to manage your financial planning. You will be able to manage your finances, compare yourself to other P-Reps, as well financially plan in a responsible manner.

The developer category is based on the amount of applications you’ve built on the ICON network, as well as consistency over time. These include but are not limited to:

The amount of applications that you have built out.
Consistency of your team’s building over time.
Your node’s resilience and stability on the network.

To improve your score in these areas, you must actively build, and make it a big focus for your team going forward. Here are some tips that will ultimately impact your score in a positive way:

Create a plan on what it is you want to build. Have a clear direction going forward.
Focus on beyond the ICON network. ICON at the end of the day is an interoperability protocol.
Build applications that grow the network. This can be transaction wise (low level) or high level applications (such as Catena Score).
Ensure they’re of quality and have staying power. Your apps should be impactful to the network in a positive way.
