The piece is on a wooden and plywood frame that has button-fly mens briefs stapled to it. The canvas is then primed with latex paint. The piece has about a quarter of a liter (half a pint) of primer paint. It takes at least a week to “cure” before painting can start. I use a combination of acrylic, latex and other water-based paint medias. The technique makes for rich under-painting and the articles of clothing add a unique backstory to the painting.
